A Professor in the Department of Literature, and Deputy Principal of the College of Humanities and Social Sciences at Makerere University in Uganda. He holds a BA in Literature and Language from Makerere University, an M.Litt in Literary Linguistics from the University of Strathclyde, Glasgow in the UK, and a PhD in Literature from the University of Dar es Salaam in Tanzania. His current research interests are in the areas of African Oral Literature, Children's Literature and Gender in Literature, and he has published in these areas
