Activist
Imam Idi Kasozi is one of the top most influential Muslims and civic leaders in Uganda. He is a graduate of Makerere University, and holds a master’s degree in demography. He is a farmer, a businessman, and a senior lecturer of Sociology at Mbale Islamic University in Uganda. He is also the Imam of Mawanga Mosque(Munyonyo), the vice Chairman Uganda Muslim Youth Assembly (UMYA), and coordinator of IHH in Uganda . He is a member of UMBS, UMTA, UMPRO, EX-MUMSA walk-in, Tablegh, T4T, Ammanah Foundation, MIA MIA foundation. Imam Kasozi is a climate change activist leading on climate change project, HEAR Uganda, UMSC, Bridge foundation, and several other organisations. He has held numerous TV and newspaper interviews as an advocate for Muslims and their interests. Iman Kasozi has long been engaged with the Green Top Project, a secular organization that produces tree seedlings that are then given out free to communities, schools, and mosques. The project integrates training for youths and elders from communities across the country on the need to combat the impacts of climate change.
