Senior Lecturer
Dr. Abdul Hafiz holds a bachelors, Masters and PhD in Islamic Law from Islamic university in Uganda and international Islamic University Islamabad, respectively. Besides that, Dr. Abdul Hafiz holds a Master’s degree in project management, diploma in Education, diploma in law and diploma in Islamic banking and finance. He began his academic career as a secondary school teacher and progressed as a senior lecturer, just one step below the rank of Associate Professor. He is engaged in several academic discourses at both local and international levels, the most outstanding is being a Resource Person and Instructor of International Institute of Islamic Thought representing the East African region and majoring in the field of Maqasid Shariah (Higher objectives of Shariah), and the most recent being an expert in Shariah in the training project of microfinance support centre and Islamic Development Bank that targeted 21 districts of Uganda. His local and international academic engagements are majorly in the field of Shariah and contemporary issues in which he has addressed concerns in Shariah and Assisted Reproductive Technologies, Shariah and DNA paternity testing, Islamic inheritance in contemporary societies, Islamic Finance and Islamic law of inheritance. He has authored several scholarly articles in Shariah and Comparative law which can be traced through his ORCID iD: 0009-0000-6855-5924
